Description
Well here's a fun bit. Wanted a bit more cuts in this, but that would take my time more than intended so i'm finishing this now while the topic's still relevant.
Out of the miserable time i've had watching Gundam Build Divers, there's at least a neat idea for a sequence in the 2nd episode where the main character was about to be shot in 2 mirroring directions, and he evades them by switching the 2 GN Drives at 2 opposing angles to pivot the whole body quickly, smoothly evading both shots. Shame the show shot it so shoddily. (orig00.deviantart.net/5b7f/f/2…)
Here's a tip: If you want to show a 'distance' between something and how it relates to some 'narrow' situation, find an angle where you can see the distances clearly so audience can make comparison and easily felt the stakes you're establishing. In the case for this sequence, it should be done somewhere from around an overhead shot. The problem with the show's execution is not only it ignores this rule by shooting 00 at a long, eye-level shot (therefore blinding the tightness between both beams), but also by making the beam and 00 move insanely slow, diminishes the powerful feeling of the beam and lost the stakes massively. So here i am, trying to see how it can be done better and hopefully, quite educative
