WIP Dairy 02-1: Soleus 'Revision'

As some of you may not know, i have my own original robot design called "Solus" - as i call it, as my "mecha mascot" of sorts. But for years, it has been redesign a couple of times without itself ever being finished, mostly probably because at the time i felt i wasn't ready to continue on with the design i was looking for. So, since it was rather a abandoned project, i decided to revisit it again.

First of all, "Solus" is a Latin word for "Only", meaning - to my aspect - it's the only lead robot of every of my robot drawing armies. But i decided to alter the name a bit - because it just sounds too 'ordinary' - to "Soleus", which i think sounds a bit mythical (like Zeus, or Perseus).

Soleus's design theme has always meant unique to me. And most of you probably never seen the "temporary Solus Gundam" before. That's because i never uploaded it here - it's on my closed group facebook instead lol It borrowed Solus's name temporarily, since it was an unnamed study concept design (bare with me, we get to Soleus later). The idea was, basically just a pursuit of pure Artistic design without considering function of laws-and-physics, a robot with a sculpture body, but still maintain good articulations (you can put it "mecha in sculpture disguise", if you want lol). To get the look, i took some references from Turn X and Pagani Huayra (yep, i took some reference from a car lol). So i designed it rather radical than i have draw any robot before, which surprisingly - turned out well, i think. And since i like it, i decided to pursuit the same artistic path even further (with even further asymmetrical design) with the redesigned Soleus, but still maintain some elements from the 2011's redesign. And i'm stunned of how it turns out.

Apart from the artistic idea, i want to make it King-like, a Tyrant, something that has greatly feared authority. That will be further shown when it's complete with it's equipment intact (well, at least in my head it is). The head (or more like, the back of the head) is inspired from "Wayang Kulit", my country's traditional puppet shadow play. The face was rather tricky at first to thought, because i want to make it eyeless, furious, but in the same time, fully asymmetrical (keeping the artistic aspect).


This is still WIP, but i'm curious to how you guys think about it
